Uplevel your sales calls without being gross
You probably already know it takes more to stand out online than it did in 2020, but it’s SO important to me to keep telling you the truth of what I’m seeing in the industry. And that’s this – people are absolutely still buying. Small businesses are still thriving. And my clients and I are still having some of our best years yet.
Not because we know a secret that you don’t.
My clients and I are doing so well because we are willing to keep revisiting and refining the basics. I’m talking about the business foundations – sales skills, marketing and messaging, strategy, team leadership and mindset.
I think we’ve all been sold a crappy message in the online space that these foundations are what we need to set up in our first few years in business and after that, you either don’t need to revisit and refine. Or if you do, you’re doing something wrong.
I couldn’t disagree more!
Once my clients have the important foundations set (or re-set if you’re pivoting or scaling), the rest of the game is actually leaning into upleveling those same stills. To “stay in it” and keep looking at your data, iterating, testing, optimizing, and refining.
This is what SO few people are talking about!
Because it sounds kinda boring? Sure I think that’s part of it. But it’s also a lie that our brains tell us – that if we want to grow or scale, we need to make big sweeping changes, create a brand new offer or drastically change our messaging.
Our brains want to over-complicate. Because it feels confronting or even like you’re going backwards to keep refining a skill you’ve already got at some level. (where’s the excitement in that?)
But Occam’s razor tells us that the simplest answer is usually the answer.
One of the reasons my clients are doing well is because they’re bringing every element of their sales process to our coaching sessions. The follow-ups that feel awkward. The sales calls where they’re not sure where the other person is at. The basics they think they should’ve already nailed that they’d rather not revisit.
But sales skills continue to make or break business success. And sales calls are a great place to dive into if you’re not making the sales you want, or if your sales process feels hard.
That’s why I went live on Substack to talk about how you can Uplevel your sales calls without being gross!
In this conversation, I dive into:
🌴 The question I’m asking my clients right now that’s helping them take their sales skills to the next level
