How I think about shiny objects as I scale, and stay true to my multi-passionate, creative nature

Friends and close colleagues often ask me how I’ve been able to stick to the same business model and (mostly) the same offer for the last 6+ years and counting…and actually still enjoy it.

Because it seems SO different from my nature.

If you don’t know me, let me fill you in on a little bit of background.

I’ve spent my entire adult life changing it up, a LOT. I’ve had so many different jobs, homes, relationships, and lifestyles over the years, most of my friends and family stopped trying to keep up years ago. I love to travel and explore new cultures and places. I am truly a multipassionate person.

So how in the world have I managed to have a business that’s looked largely the same from the outside since 2021?!

And allow me to blow your mind further...the more I commit and recommit to my 1:1 business model and offer, the more I love it and feel lit up and free by this choice! (2020 me is still 🤯by the fact that I feel freer instead of stuck!)

First things first, please hear me when I say that I’m not advocating for YOU to stick to the same business model and offer for the next 6 years. We all absolutely need to iterate, refine, shift, and be agile in business. The people who put their heads in the sand a few years ago and kept doing the same thing without looking at the industry changes are the ones having trouble now, or have closed their doors. Meanwhile, I’ve also been the coach behind many important and successful pivots. There are plenty of times where change is necessary.

But what I’m always working on with my clients is helping them make excellent strategic business decisions.

And that includes knowing the difference between a fun shiny object that’ll feel fun at first but cost you time, money and energy in the end, and a brilliant idea that’ll change the trajectory of your business.

So, let’s talk about shiny objects and get it all out on the table. Because they’re not all good and they’re not all bad.

Inside this livestream I dive into:

🌴The top 2 reasons why I think most people struggle with shiny objects (and it’s not FOMO, commitment issues, ADHD, or avoidance)

🌴The silly thing I do with my clients to help them figure out if it’s a distraction or a stroke of genius

🌴Why I don’t struggle with shiny objects, and have stayed committed to the same business model and offer (with a few minor changes) for over 6 years and counting and have used the same handful of simple strategies over the last 9 years

🌴The questions I ask myself every time I’m pulled by a shiny object that helps me discern whether I REALLY want it.

Reminder for next time: I’m glad you made it here to the replay but, if you join me live next time, you’ll get to ask questions, participate in the conversation, AND you’ll be entered to win a free mini coaching session!
