Strategic vacation planning: How to build time off into your business instead of over-doing it before and after

You probably already know I’m a big fan of vacations…long vacations, actually.

I took a long one this month and spent 3 weeks in Europe. Promise to tell you more about it later!

This is something my clients and I talk about and plan for often. And it’s one of the first things I’ll ask a new client about if they’re teetering on the edge of burnout.

Because we all know that vacations are 100% necessary if you want to stay sane while running your own business. And honestly, one of the biggest perks if you ask me.

But just because you KNOW it’s a good idea, doesn’t mean it’s EASY to take a vacation.

An ACTUAL vacation.

You know, when you’re actually enjoying what’s in front of you and you’re not…

👉Checking email when you’re on vacation not because you planned to, but because you’re worried you’ve missed something or someone will need you, and you just wanna make sure...

👉Checking email and judging yourself for it later

👉Over-working the week before you leave and the week (or 2!) after you return, making yourself wonder if it was really worth it

👉Over-booking yourself for your first week back to work, and losing that vacation buzz immediately upon your return

But what I find for most entrepreneurs is that actually turning your work-brain OFF is hard in itself.

And then when you’ve not done enough of the RIGHT planning in advance, it just makes it harder to actually stay present when  you do get away.

So, if you’ve still got a vacation coming up this summer, or you’re fresh off  your own lessons learned from your vacation and you’re ready to make your next one a LOT smoother and easier on yourself, I’ve got you covered!
